The Department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1985. There are two undergraduate majors in chemical engineering and applied chemistry. This speciality contains 19 professional teachers, including 8 professors, 7 associate professors, 1 senior experimenter, 9 with doctoral degrees and 5 with master's degrees.

Scientific Research

The main research directions of the Department of Chemical Engineering are industrial catalysis and fine chemicals. Over the past five years, it has undertaken more than 20 research projects at the national and provincial (ministerial) level. It has more than 10 horizontal joint projects with companies and has published more than 200 papers in well-known academic journals at home and abroad. It has won more than 20 authorized patents and 50 awards.

Admissions and Employment

In the past five years, enrollment of undergraduates in chemical engineering and applied chemistry has been relatively good, and the rate of graduates' study and employment has been maintained relatively high, ranking first in the entire university.
